Black Friday hosting deals are the one time of year the entire industry advertises the same thing at once, and the discounts are genuinely larger than usual. They are also the easiest time of year to buy three years of an expensive contract because the first month was cheap. Four checks separate the two outcomes.
1. What does it renew at?
This is the whole game. Across the hosts we have reviewed the renewal averages 3.5x the intro rate, and the hosts advertising the deepest discounts are usually the ones with the steepest step: IONOS discounts to $1 and renews at $8, and lands eighth of sixteen on three-year cost. SiteGround discounts to $2.99, renews at $17.99, and lands fourteenth. Both look spectacular on a banner.
2. How long is the rate locked?
A discount is only worth its duration. Hostinger's $2.99 holds for 48 months; SiteGround's identical-looking $2.99 holds for 12. Over three years that single difference is worth $360. Always find the term the discount applies to before the percentage.
3. Is it actually better than the normal price?
Often it is the same intro rate with different artwork. We re-read every host's pricing page nightly and record what changed, so the deals page shows the current figures rather than the campaign ones — and it ranks by the 36-month bill, which is the ordering the banners would not survive.
4. What is the refund window?
The only risk-free way to test a host is to buy it and leave inside the window. DreamHost's is 97 days, the longest we have found; WP Engine gives 60; HostGator, FastComet and ChemiCloud give 45; most others give 30. Cloudways gives none. A long window turns a Black Friday purchase into a trial rather than a commitment — see how to cancel and actually get a refund.
The honest summary
Buy on Black Friday if you were going to buy anyway, take the longest term you are genuinely confident about, and write the renewal date in your calendar the same day. Then read how to avoid a renewal price increase, because the offer you accept in November is the bill you dispute in twelve months.
We do not publish coupon codes. A code list is worthless unless every code on it works, and keeping dozens verified continuously is not something we can promise.
